Location Guide Wicklow Mountains

Some locations are a bit more obvious than others. Sometimes easy to get to, sometimes not so easy. Sometimes when you get there its not so easy deciding what to shoot. I think this image illustrates the latter.

This tree is located through the Sally Gap crossroads on the way to Blessington. Its only a few miles from the crossroads and you cant miss it and the other tress around it. The tricky part is that this tree is located quite close to the road and not neatly situated in any obvious space. So here’s the trick. You need minimum 17mm lens on full frame. Tuck yourself in close to the bridge, open the lens right up and wait for appropriate levels of side light and cloud. This image works any time of year..Good luck..
