In September 2016 32 amateur photographers, led by Ireland’s foremost professionals took part in 5 photography workshops. They spent 2 days in some of Ireland’s most remote locations along the Wild Atlantic Way. From north Donegal to West Cork their purpose was an inspiring educational experience and the creation of a unique photographic snapshot in time, the IrishLight Collection.
Arun Farcas – Clare Workshop 29/09/16 @ 6:28 pm
Stephen Farrell – Connemara – 30/09/16 @ 1:39 pm
Noel McIntyre – Donegal Workshop – 30/09/16 @ 6:49 PM
Paul Byrne – West Cork Workshop – 01/10/16 @ 08:05 am
Stephanie Johnson – Kerry Workshop – 01/10/16 @ 10:22 am
The theme of the workshops was Atlantic Reach and we are now ready to produce a 128 page hardback book and exhibition of this amazing and unique work, all in aid of our charity partner, The Samaritans.
The work shows the light unfolding through teams of photographers shooting different locations simultaneously. This is the essence of the IrishLight Collection. You will see sunrise in Connemara and turn the page to see what’s been happening with the light in Donegal.
Its been an amazing experience pulling all this work together and harnessing all the amazing talent that’s out there. We hope to make this an annual undertaking with 2017 nearly booked out already ..
For now though check out the small sample of beautiful images below and start to get a genuine feel for the timeline .. The actual book will feature 64 images ..
