“I love dark textural tones and silvery highlights. I work predominantly in black and white, both in analogue and digitally. I think working in this way, without the use of colour, brings the viewer straight to the soul of the landscape.”
Michael McLaughlin is an Award Winning Commercial and Fine Art photographer. Based in the beautiful town of Westport, Co Mayo on the coast of the wild Atlantic west of Ireland, Michael has been a Professional Commercial Photographer since 1999.
He is a member of the Irish Professional Photographers Associations and Press Photographers Association and holds an Associate qualification with The IPPA. Michael has won many National and international Awards over the last few years, in 2016 he won The Bronze Camera for Landscape in the Photographer of the Year awards – Federation of European Photographers (FEP) and was the national Irish Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2016.
