Let’s delve deeper into the world of the Irish Islands. The IrishLight Festival 2017 theme is An tOileán – the Island. Dotted around the country’s coast these gems will be our home for 3 days in September. 52 photographers will descend on 7 islands armed with cameras and tripods. Ready for sun, rain, wind, tides & the great outdoors … they will try to capture the beauty of the islands, its sunrises and sunsets while learning and receiving guidance from Ireland’s foremost landscape photographers.

The IrishLight experience is more than just a workshop. Its a chance to be involved in a unique project on the Irish landscape. The images that you make on the islands will be used to create a book and exhibition showing a snapshot in time of the Irish landscape. This will all be done in aid of charity. We are in the process of making the 2016 Collection a reality. It’s been a huge part of the experience to participants with follow up critique and preparation of work, the chance to be part of a unique book and exhibition, as well as raising vital money for charity. This year’s cause is the Samaritans.
