What is the Big Day – Evolution of an Idea !

Imagine a day where some of the top talents of international landscape photography are gathered for a series of presentations that will inspire and amaze. At its core, thats what drives the Big Day. We want to put on a unique event that people leave blown away by, inspired, and excited to get out shooting and enjoying their photography. This year we feel we have put together a world class line up with 2 speakers coming in from the US: Marc Adamus and Sean Bagshaw, with Paul Sanders coming from the UK and Joel Tjintjelaar from Holland. It really is a unique chance to see all of these amazing photographers in one day.

We have certainly been privileged to have some great speakers over the years with people flying into to Ireland like Charlie Waite, Sandra Bartocha, Rachael Talibart to name a few, plus a host of local talent like Rohan Reilly, George Karbus and Norman McCloskey. For this year’s event, we have decided to go all out and host a totally international line up. We know that the Irish talent is of the highest order, but we felt having an all international line up would give the day even more uniqueness.

We also have some great trade presence confirmed for the day including Nikon, Conns and 360 DPI. Expect some great offers from Conns and 360, and a chance to talk to the Nikon experts flying in from UK especially for the event. Registration will kick off from 9am and our trade stands will be up and running and ready to go. Get in early if you have your eye on a particular filter, you have the perfect image you need framed, or you want to talk shop about the change over to mirrorless.

The talks will kick off from 10 and each speaker will present for 1 – 1.5 hours. The day will conclude between 5 and 6 pm. There will be breaks in between each talk where you will have further chance to talk with the trade, and of course, a significant break for lunch. We will be releasing further info on the specifics of the talks really soon but we can say they will be more focused on inspiration and ideas, as opposed to heavy technical discussions. Of course, each speaker will touch on settings and workflow, but having these guys over is a real treat, and we want to tap into their creative process, hear their stories, and generally be wowed.
